Matra · the manifesto as a constellation

Slovo je vibrácia. Every glyph resolved from dots moved off the lattice by the seed; a wave with one wavelength per mātrā runs through each line; pressed, a line sounds at one bit in the key of the day and commits to its constellation. Metre derived from the orthography: 8 · 10 · 10 · 8.

Matra · the manifesto as a constellation plate

Evidence

Built by hand from the operator's manifesto. Every number below came out of probe.mjs (Playwright/Chromium, --use-gl=swiftshader, results in probe.json, plates beside it: shot-1440.png, shot-sounding.png, shot-committed.png, shot-390.png, shot-reduced.png). Headless has no GPU, so every timing is a lower bound. Re-run:

What it is

The four lines of the manifesto —

Slovo je vibrácia.
Zvuk je commitment k ďalšej sfére.
Nie je to látka a hmota.
Ale konštelácia.

— set in Geist 500, rasterised once to a mask, sampled on the lattice (pitch 8 at desktop, 3 on a phone), and thrown away. What survives is a list of dots: one per lattice cell inside a glyph, radius from the cell's coverage, each moved off its cell by a seeded hash of its coordinates and the day's seed. The word is a constellation: it reads from where you stand and it is not matter. A sin⁴ wave runs through each line with one wavelength per mātrā of that line. Pressing a line sounds it at one bit and commits it.

The measure

The metre is derived from the orthography, not chosen. Rule: a nucleus is a vowel, a diphthong (ia ie iu ô) or r/l between consonants; the acute, the diphthong and ŕ ĺ make it long; short is one mātrā, long is two. The probe prints every syllable:

linesyllablesscansionmātrāseconds
1o˘ o˘ e˘ i˘ ᯠia¯u u u u - -81.6
2u˘ e˘ o˘ i˘ e˘ a˘ e˘ é¯ e˘u u u u u u u - u102.0
3ie¯ e˘ o˘ ᯠa˘ a˘ o˘ a˘- u u - u u u u102.0
4a˘ e˘ o˘ e˘ ᯠia¯u u u u - -81.6

8 · 10 · 10 · 8. One mātrā is 200 ms, an eighth of --beat, so the first and last lines last exactly one beat. This was not designed; it was found by scanning the text, and it is the reason the page is called what it is.
