the format of formats

The root design canon. Every other brand in this organisation is a namespace underneath it — inheriting the whole system, overriding five tokens, editing nothing.

the thesis · the dot

/.metanomicon is a dotfile. A leading period is how a filesystem hides a thing: not locked, not encrypted, just not listed. Present to anyone who knows to look.

HORCRX's mark is [[. ]] — a period held inside brackets, the essence in the vessel. It is the same period. One glyph, two functions, which is why the mark never needed redrawing to accommodate a parent brand: the parent was already implicit in the punctuation.

namespace register

/.metanomicon The canon. Speaks in constraints so the namespaces underneath can speak in voices. root

atlas The body. Registered so the lineage is expressible; the source worktree is read-only prior art. substrate

horcrx The soul-vessel protocol. Source of truth stays in its own package; here it is a token override. vessel

pieces

datamosh hero

Column pixel-sort and directional smear over a wall of system text. The field decays; the name does not.

sphere lattice

Seven analytically shaded spheres in hexagonal close pack, quantised to one bit.

hexagram grid

Sixty-four six-bit figures in Fu Xi order. A six-bit register that predates the transistor.

system chrome

1-bit window furniture — striped title bars, dithered desktops, hard 1px borders.

namespace tree

The extension contract, demonstrated rather than diagrammed. Tokens re-resolve through the cascade.

index constellation

Everything the root can see — the operator's territory as a living star chart.

dither patterns

Bayer orders, the continuous ramp, halftone mapping, and the classic 8×8 fills.

doctrine

Grey is a lie told by dots. The native depth is one bit; a mid-tone is a density of marks decided by an ordered Bayer matrix, never a grey value.

The essence marks the dot and nothing else. Cyan is never a fill, background, or border. The sigil crimson is instrumentation — lines and labels, evidence about the work, never the work.

Two faces, no third. A neutral grotesque at the meta layer, because the container of all brands must not itself look branded; the namespaces keep their own voices underneath.

Heartbeats and sweeps. Nothing bounces. The pointer perturbs a field; it never drives it.
